Asian Wood Furniture Exports Reach Record High in 2025 Amid Global Demand for Natural Living
News Details
According to the 2025 Global Furniture Trade Report, exports of Asian-made wood furniture grew by 22% compared to last year, reaching an all-time high. The surge is fueled by global consumer shifts toward natural materials and minimalist aesthetics.
Countries such as Vietnam, China, and Indonesia remain major production hubs, with growing attention to sustainability certifications like FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and CARB Phase 2 compliance. Buyers increasingly request low-VOC finishes, recyclable packaging, and traceable timber sources.
European retailers, particularly in Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, are driving demand for solid oak dining tables, modular wooden beds, and hand-crafted chairs. Meanwhile, North American markets show increasing preference for mid-century modern wood furniture, blending comfort with timeless design.
“Consumers today are looking for authenticity and sustainability,” said Michael Liu, export director of Leehu Furniture. “Our solid wood collections are designed to meet both aesthetic and environmental expectations of global buyers.”
The report also noted that e-commerce has become the main growth channel, with online furniture sales in the wood segment up by 35% year-on-year. Social media platforms and virtual showrooms are helping brands reach customers directly, reducing reliance on traditional trade fairs.
Analysts predict that by 2030, Asia’s share of the global sustainable wood furniture market could exceed 55%, marking a new era of craftsmanship and innovation in natural home design.
